Depurative, emollient, softening, mild expectorant, gentle anti-inflammatory for the skin.
Flavonoids (rutin, violanthine), mucilages, salicylic acid, tannins, saponins, anthocyanins.
A plant of European folk traditions, wild pansy has been renowned since the Middle Ages for purifying the blood and skin. It was notably given to children suffering from eczema or cradle cap. Its richness in mucilages and softening compounds gives it a central place in natural preparations intended for the skin and respiratory tract.
