Cherry Birch (leaves & twigs) – Full description & information

Origin & tradition. The "sweet birch" ( Betula lenta ) is native to North America. In addition to the quality derived from the bark, there is a distillation of the leaves & twigs : the olfactory profile remains fresh-balsamic with a lighter "wintergreen" facet, accompanied by herbaceous, green and slightly woody tones.

Botanical description & raw material. Tree of temperate forests (Betulaceae), dark trunk, shiny oval leaves. The oil in this sheet comes exclusively from the leaves & twigs (steam distillation). It differs from the "bark" quality (more typical of methyl salicylate) by a greener freshness and a herbaceous presence.

Olfactory profile & construction. Fresh, slightly camphor-mentholated top note, green/herbaceous-balsamic heart , sweet-woody base. Very useful for energizing citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit), contrasting woods (cedar, guaiac) and highlighting fresh spices (cardamom). Dose gradually to maintain the balance of the accord.
