Main virtues

Traditional use and dosage

  • Remineralizing bath: Infuse 30 to 50 g of thallus in 1 L of hot water, add to the bath. Relax for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Sea wrap: Rehydrate the pieces in lukewarm water, apply as a poultice to the targeted areas (body, legs, back).
  • External decoction: Boil 10 to 15 g in 500 ml of water for skin or hair care (remineralizing rinse).

Precautions, side effects and contraindications

  • Naturally contains iodine: not recommended for people suffering from thyroid disorders without medical advice.
  • Do not ingest without professional or regulatory supervision.
  • External use well tolerated, avoid on open wounds or very sensitive skin without prior testing.

History and origin

Harvested along the Atlantic coast for centuries, kelp is used in marine pharmacopoeia and traditional coastal body care. It is also the basis of the famous "kelp" used in modern nutritional practices.
