Traditional use and dosage

  • Infusion: 1 tablespoon of leaves for 250 ml of simmering water, infuse for 10 minutes. 2 to 3 cups per day.
  • External use: Concentrated infusion for eye baths, gargles or soothing compresses.

Precautions, side effects and contraindications

  • Plant well tolerated, including by children and the elderly.
  • Avoid prolonged uninterrupted use.

History and use

Mallow was already used in ancient Rome to soothe stomach aches and inflammation. Its folk use has been passed down through the centuries as a gentle and effective home remedy, both internally and externally.
