Description

Dried and cut flowers, golden yellow to bright orange in color, light texture, sweet vegetal aroma. Each batch contains the floral ligules and sometimes the calyx, finely cut to facilitate use in infusion or incorporation. Manual or semi-mechanized harvest, low temperature drying to preserve the natural pigments.

History and tradition

Marigold has been cultivated since the Middle Ages in monastic gardens and the countryside of Europe. A symbol of sunshine and vitality, it was used in many external care preparations and herbal tinctures. The flower was also used in rustic cooking for its bright, saffron-like color.
