Fragments of dried pods, beige to light brown in color, fibrous and brittle in appearance. Faint grassy odor, bitter taste. Naturally air-dried, cultivated in dry areas (Tinnevelly, South India).

• Decoction: 1 to 2 g in 150 ml of water – boil for 5 min then infuse for 10 min – drink in the evening.
• Recommended combinations: green anise, fennel, licorice, caraway – to relieve any abdominal cramps.
• Duration: 1 to 2 doses per day for a maximum of 5 to 7 days.

Precautions, side effects and contraindications

• Possible side effects: abdominal pain, diarrhea, electrolyte imbalances.
• Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for children under 12 years old.
