Main virtues

Natural antioxidant (polyphenols), supports venous circulation, purifying and draining effect, supports the skin (tone, radiance), gentle prebiotic action.

Main constituents

Polyphenols (OPC), tannins, organic acids, fibers, flavonoids, resveratrol residues, water-soluble vitamins (traces).

Traditional use and dosage

  • Infusion: 1 tablespoon per 250 ml of boiling water. Infuse for 10–12 minutes. 1 to 3 cups/day.
  • Decoction: 10 to 15 g in 500 ml of water, boil for 15 minutes for a circulatory or purifying action.
  • External use: As a local poultice on tired skin, dull complexion or areas prone to retention.

Precautions, side effects and contraindications

  • Very well tolerated. Avoid in case of digestive sensitivity to fermentable fibers.
  • Not recommended for pregnant women without professional advice.
  • Do not confuse with concentrated seed extracts (more powerful and different in dosage).

History and use

Used since ancient times in popular medicinal practices related to the vine, grape pomace was applied as a poultice to drain and tone the flesh. It remains a key ingredient in vinotherapy and certain "pure grape" or seasonal drainage herbal teas.
