Aromatic profile

Bergamot brings a very fine citrus note (more floral than lemon), dried pineapple gives the island feel, coconut rounds things out, lemongrass and lime leaf refresh, sweet ginger adds a kick without being spicy, and vanilla binds everything together.

History & approach

Bergamote des Îles was born from the idea of combining a "noble" citrus note (bergamot, widely used in perfumery and some teas) with distinctly sunny tones (pineapple, coconut). The result: a fresh, elegant, yet joyful base, perfect for both lunchtime and evening drinks.

Usage tips

  • Cold infusion : Infuse for 12–24 hours in a cool place in still or sparkling water, then filter finely.
  • Homemade syrup : water + sugar simmering, add the mixture, cover for 20–30 min, filter, keep refrigerated.
  • Bergamot-exotic iced tea : infuse in warm green or white tea, filter, chill, serve over ice.
  • Homemade soda : 2–3 tbsp of syrup + sparkling water + lime slice.
  • Creations : non-alcoholic cocktails, brunch drinks, fruit-infused waters, tropical granitas.

Recipe ideas

  • Bergamot Island Fizz : 3 cl of Bergamot Island syrup + 12 cl of sparkling water + citrus zest.
  • Tropical Earl-Style : iced white tea + 1 tsp of infusion, strain, serve very cold.
  • Coconut-Lemongrass Cooler : 2 cl of syrup + 10 cl of sparkling water + coconut flakes.
  • Island citrus water : cold infusion for 12 hours, serve iced.

Precautions for use & storage

Use only clean, dry utensils. Strain thoroughly (coconut and pineapple may leave fine sediment). Store the dry mixture away from light, heat, and moisture. After processing into a syrup or sweetened beverage, refrigerate and consume promptly (within 2–3 weeks).
