Aromatic profile

Tamarind brings a round, almost indulgent acidity, orange peel adds brightness, cinnamon and ginger create a gentle warmth, star anise rounds everything out with an aniseed note, while black pepper and cardamom bring a more mature aromatic dimension.

History & approach

Tamarin d'Épices is inspired by the table drinks of Africa and the islands, where a tangy base is combined with warming spices. Here, Papa Willy's version remains intentionally simple, dry, and ready to drink, making it suitable for both a refreshing and comforting beverage.

Usage tips

  • Cold infusion : Infuse for 12–24 hours in cool water, then filter well.
  • Homemade syrup : water + sugar simmering, add the mixture, cover for 20–30 min, filter, keep chilled.
  • Spiced iced tea : infusion in warm black tea or chai tea, fine filtering, cooling.
  • Homemade soda : 2–3 tbsp of Tamarind Spices syrup + sparkling water + orange slice.
  • Creations : non-alcoholic cocktails, party drinks, spiced fruit water.

Recipe ideas

  • Spicy Tamarind Fizz : 3 cl of syrup + 12 cl of sparkling water + orange wedge.
  • Tamarind Iced Tea : iced black tea + 1 tsp Tamarind Spice Infusion, strain, sweeten if necessary.
  • Orange & Spice Cooler : 2 cl of syrup + 10 cl of sparkling water + orange zest.
  • Flavored water : cold infusion for 12 hours, serve very chilled.

Precautions for use & storage

Use clean, dry utensils. Strain thoroughly (tamarind may slightly cloud the drink). Store the dry mixture away from light, heat, and moisture. After processing into a syrup or sweetened beverage, refrigerate and consume quickly (within 2–3 weeks).
